About Us

Freestone Outdoors was founded by Marysville locals Tariq Gerardi and Laura Semple. After relocating from Melbourne in 2025, they quickly fell in love with the pace and community of the town and decided to build something that reflected it.

Laura established her Pilates business, Moving with Clouds, and found a permanent space in Marysville. From there, Freestone Outdoors grew naturally from the way they live: outdoors whenever possible, and always with a rod not far away. The studio space now doubles as a retail store operating as Freestone Outdoors when classes are not running, stocking a practical, well-chosen range of outdoor, camping, fishing, and fly fishing gear for locals and visitors passing through.

Tariq, an avid fly fisher, ties his own flies, which are available in store and through the website. Tested locally and made with care.
